Anderson Kitchen

Will and Rhonda’s kitchen was dark and wasn’t functioning they way they needed it to.

The design goal for the Anderson’s kitchen was to create a more open and inviting feel while making the space function better for them. They had always dreamed about a sink under the window. The only window in the space was too long so the first step was to order a new window that was shorter to allow for a sink to fit underneath. Moving the sink not only provided a view at the sink but greatly improved the work triangle.

They chose to use custom Lectus Cabinets and opted for some cabinetry inserts to make the kitchen even more user-friendly: a double garbage pull-out, sink tip-outs, roll-out shelves in the pantry, and a Super Susan in the corner cabinet. The warm maple cabinetry is warm and cozy with the slate looking floor and ceramic tile backsplash.

“We take great pleasure in recommending Tegan Derksen for her services."

Tegan from Locale Designs worked with us for approximately 6 months –transforming our outdated kitchen and our basement kitchenette and bar area into the space we had only dreamed of. She listened to our ideas, but also brought her own original thoughts to the table. Throughout the renovation she displayed a high degree of integrity, responsibility and enthusiasm. She is dedicated to her craft and is meticulous to detail. Tegan has a friendly, outgoing attitude that she easily maintains while remaining solution focused. She has great communication, listening and organizational skills which kept us on time and on budget. Furthermore, she worked effectively with all the trades people involved with our renovation—always making time to be available to get the job done efficiently and professionally.

We are ecstatic about the results Tegan achieved. It is a true testament to her talent that relatives, friends and guests who visit our renovated home are in awe of the transformation.
